About me
I am Diana the owner of The Natural Hairdresser.
The treatments I give may all be different from what you are used to because The Natural Hairdresser is not a traditional hair salon but a natural hair care salon. This means a natural and eco-conscious outlook with a focus on proper care of hair and scalp. You can come to me for hair-friendly treatments such as plant-based hair colouring, natural hair care, natural hair enhancement and a natural approach to hair and scalp problems.
I am a qualified all-round hairdresser, make-up artist and bridal stylist and am a member of the network of hair and scalp specialists.
Over time, I have gained extensive experience within the external care industry. I have worked as a top stylist at several hair salons, a hairdressing teacher at an intermediate vocational school and as a technical consultant & trainer for a luxury hairdressing brand.
To stay professionally competent, I regularly attend various workshops and courses, keeping my knowledge in various fields constantly up-to-date.
How it all began
I used to always want to be a hairdresser. As a little girl, I went every Sunday morning to provide my mother with the most beautiful pigtails and always combed her hair very thoroughly. So it was also no surprise to my parents that I wanted to go to hairdressing school. After successfully completing the course, I started working, worked at the hairdressing school, later worked as a technical consultant and salon trainer, and after this I started working for myself as a self-employed person.
I was a traditional hairdresser as everyone knows it, so I used synthetic products and chemical hair dyes. I was totally unaware myself that things could really be different and all kinder to people and the environment. At one point, I was bothered by those smelly breathable fumes of hair dye and this really burned my head. This couldn't be healthy to breathe in and smear on your head all day, could it? This became the beginning of my journey as a natural hairdresser.....
I noticed that more and more people were coming with various sensitivities, allergies and eczema. Chemical hair dye burning on my head was also getting worse. I switched to using ammonia-free hair dye with caring organic ingredients and a whole line of ECO products. I thought I had made a responsible choice and trusted the manufacturer's knowledge.
Some time later, I watched a documentary on microplastics. This really shocked me and made me aware about the impact microplastics have. Meanwhile, I had found and downloaded the very useful app Beat the microbead. When I started using it, I shocked myself! Almost all my so-called ECO products contained microplastics! HELP
Meanwhile, my eldest son developed alopecia and went completely bald. We visited several medical specialists and later entered the alternative circuit with a mesologist. I was curious as to whether I could still do something for him and started reading up on this and immersed myself further in natural treatment protocols, purity of products and later took courses. Here I learned various treatment protocols for different skin problems and that ammonia-free hair dye is even worse for the skin than the hair dye that did contain it, learned about good and bad ingredients and how to recognise them. Also came the realisation that regular hairdressers are really big polluters with all the chemical treatments that cause a lot of harm to skin, hair and certainly the environment.
The Natural Hairdresser became a reality
After not working for some time because it was banned by corona, I knew: I want and am going to do things completely differently. With me, no more treatments that harm and destroy hair, plant-based colouring without chemicals, making hair look fuller and giving everyone a shiny head of hair with natural products. I will be The Natural Hairdresser who has a natural and environmentally conscious outlook with a focus on hair and scalp care. I will work with natural products such as plants, herbs and oils and natural grooming products without "junk". All products and plant-based hair colours are 100% natural and contain no harmful substances. Ultimately, the use of natural products and proper care of the hair and scalp will result in a beautiful healthy shiny head of hair, which will make you shine all over yourself. Because I work with natural products, there are no chemical fragrances in the salon. However, you do smell the essential oils and other scents of the natural products used, such as the earthy scent of plant powders.
Personal attention always comes first with me! No rush, I take my time for you. Everyone has their own style and taste, which is why you get good and professional advice tailored to your needs. Of course, this also includes advice for your home, as it is nice to be able to enjoy the result for as long as possible.
Experience what beautiful and natural products can do for us and stop using all kinds of synthetic and chemical products.
Nature has so much beauty to offer us! Did you fancy a natural treatment? Be welcome!
Warm greetings,
Diana
